Beyond the Classroom
An array of opportunities exist to allow the children to develop their confidence and allow their personalities to flourish.
Co-Curricular
We strongly believe every child should develop interests outside the classroom.
For our Reception children we provide a wide programme of co-curricular activities ranging from Performing Arts, Zen Den, Spanish, Karate and Craft club.
As well as developing new skills, taking part in co-curricular activities allows children to spend even more time with their friends in an informal setting.
Educational Trips
Children love our wide range of educational visits. These are linked to topics being studied in the curriculum to further enhance their learning. A selection of recent visits includes:
- Stockton Fire Station – learning about fire safety and the work of the emergency services
- Hardwick Park – hunting for a dragon and writing stories
- Blue Reef Aquarium & Souter Lighthouse – exploring the wonders of the sea
The World Around Us
Pupils love listening to visitors, many of them parents, who come into school to share their experiences and knowledge about their occupations.
We encourage children to participate in the wider school fundraising events. This teaches the children new skills and enables them to learn about the wider community. Events include the annual Jogathon, Children in Need, Sport Relief and World Book Day.
Creating Memories
We provide lots of opportunities for children, parents and family members to have fun together and create lasting memories.
The children enjoy taking part in performances such as school musicals, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Harvest Festival, Easter service, Christmas celebrations and sports days.
In addition, the Red House Parent Teacher Association organises a number of social events to bring the whole Red House family together. These include a garden fête, bonfire night, quiz nights, annual ball and a fashion show.
