Whole SchoolRed House School’s remarkable academic record continues with another year of tremendous GCSE results
Pupils, parents and staff are celebrating another year of incredible GCSE results which has seen 99.2% obtaining grades 4-9 (previously grades C-A*).
Dr Rebecca Ashcroft, Head at the independent school, said:
‘I am absolutely thrilled with our outstanding GCSE results. 99.2% of our grades are at grade 4 and above, and 73.7% of our grades are between 6-9, which is a stunning achievement in a year when the national grade 4-9 rate is considerably lower, after the grade inflation of the last few years and the return to pre-2020 levels.’
‘These are an exceptionally good set of results across a huge range of subjects and the class of 2023 should be so proud of everything they have achieved at Red House School. They have demonstrated a huge appetite for hard work and incredible resilience. It is very rewarding to see them propelled into the next exciting stage of their lives.’
‘Today is about celebrating their personal achievements. We have watched with pleasure and considerable pride as these incredible young people have fulfilled their potential in an inspiring and nurturing environment.’
‘There are so many successes to celebrate today and individual Red House highlights include, Gabriel who achieved a brilliant 7 grade 9’s, 3 grade 8’s and 1 grade 7; Sophie who was awarded a superb 6 grade 9’s, 2 grade 8’s and 2 grade 7’s; Bridie who achieved 5 grade 9’s, 4 grade 8’s and 1 grade 7; Finlay who was awarded 4 grade 9’s, 4 grade 8’s, 1 grade 7 and 1 grade 6; and Jude who achieved 3 grade 9’s, 6 grade 8’s and 2 grade 7’s. Other Red House highlights include a 100% grade 7-9 pass rate in Chemistry and German and 100% of our pupils achieved a grade 4-9 pass in Mathematics, English Language and the three sciences.’
Gabriel said: ‘I am extremely pleased with all of my results and that my hard work has paid off. I am looking forward to studying Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths.’
Head Girl, Bridie said: ‘Last night I felt quite relaxed knowing that I had given everything I could in my exams. After opening my results I was overwhelmed with joy. I just can’t believe how well I have done.
Head Boy, Luke said: ‘I felt nervous coming into school, but after seeing my results I’m over the moon. My parents are very happy and I am too.
Dr Rebecca Ashcroft, continued:
‘I am hugely grateful to every member of staff for their dedication and encouragement. I know our pupils will join me in thanking their teachers and, of course, their parents.
